Many in the tribe still believe that they once lived on an island far across the sea, in-spite of this possibility most likely being a myth.
Thus, they have a special connection to the Mermizu tribe and consider them close relatives.
Some even claim that the Mermizus are from the same tribe, and in the more recent years, left to live in the sea, while the Réaltans prefered the land.
However, scientists have yet to find evidence for this astounding claim and have largely dismissed it as a meaningless legend.
The matter has not been resolved, as of late, and many are still seeking proof for their claim.
Storm Dragons:
Ancient scrolls suggest that the storm dragons

were given their abilities by the sea itself.
These scrolls propose the idea that the sea gave the Réaltans and the Mermizus a choice of special abilities.
Ohers believe that the first Réaltans who settled in the settled in the Astraea Mountains mountains became storm dragons, while their more fearful friends waited.
This alternate legend is the most widespread and popular, in spite of a number of several Full Circle members strongly discouraging it.

The Worldwide Flood:
All Réaltans believe that there was a worldwide flood that lasted for many months.
It swept across the planet, smothering it in water, and destroying all life, except for one dragon and his family, who had been swept away by the waters, but survived somehow.
When the waters died down, the family found themselves in strange land.
It isn't clear if the land was an island or not, but many Réaltans believe it was an island.
From that family, all tribes originate.
For centuries, many Réaltans wonder what the world would've been like if the flood hadn't happened.
Beliefs:
Birth and the Importance of All Dragons:
Réaltan scientists have recently begun to understand how young dragons form inside of their mothers.
However, some dragons still believe that babies' souls were born in the ancient homeland, but were transported to the Réaltans' new home.
One thing that the entire tribe agrees on, is that all dragons, born and unborn are important individuals.
Destroying an unborn baby is the same as murdering an adult dragon.
Death and how Réaltans accept it:
When a dragon dies, his or her body is usually thrown into the ocean, in symbol of his or her return to nothing and the tribe's ancient homeland.
Before death, some dragons will tell their relatives that they want to be buried in the land, but most prefer to "return" to their original home.
This tradition helps the living relatives to accept their loved one's death, as understanding that the dead dragons' return to the ocean is a return to the old ways.
The families and friends of the dead dragon spend an entire week together, talking about their loved one and his or her life.
Réaltan studies have shown that simply spending time thinking about a dead or missing loved one helps dragons accept what happened and be able to continue their lives, while still remembering their loved ones.
Also, Réaltans give special honors to fallen warriors, who died protecting the tribe.
